Amanda Brugel

(February 27th of 2010 to Toronto ON) Pointe Claire is a secluded community in that part of the island of Montreal that is known as the West Island. The West Island has a lot of communities. For those who haven't heard of it often mistake it for an island that is west-facing. Amanda Brugel was born there, but her time there was short. Brugel grew-up in Courtice near Oshawa the city of Ontario. At the beginning of her life, she wanted to be a performer but an unexpected increase in her height made it difficult. A Toronto Star article revealed she's 6ft 1in tall in heels. As soon as I outgrew my male counterparts and stopped dancing, I quit. Brugel was one of many former dancers who shifted to acting. Her teacher from high school was what pushed her to take the next step. The teacher recommended that she audition for an annual school production. The teacher who suggested that she go after a role in the school's annual production. It was the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship led her to York University, where she completed her studies in Theatre and graduated with the Bachelors in Fine Arts in the year 2000. Since then, Brugel's been involved in more than 60 shows, large and small. The most notable was the time she was cast as Rita in The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel made an appearance on only a handful of occasions in the first season of the series The Handmaid's tale. She was the sole Canadian actor.
